summeR & autumn

In the snowless season we operate at the Arctic Borealis Huskies kennel in Pohjasperä,
55km from Ranua or 75km from Rovaniemi.

You can book a visit to the husky farm or a cart ride. Our summer and fall programs are suitable for all ages.

May - October

SUMMER PROGRAMS

WINTER & SPRING

As soon as there is enough snow and the weather allows, the action will move to Wild Arctic Husky Park, near Ranua Zoo.

You can book husky sled rides of different lengths. In our programs you will find suitable excursions for the whole family.

December - April

November Magic

During November, our safaris take place at the Arctic Borealis Huskies kennel in Pohjasperä, just 55 km from Ranua and 75 km from Rovaniemi.

Whether the trails are covered in snow or not, the adventure is just as unforgettable. Most November safaris are enjoyed with our specially designed dog carts, allowing you to drive your own husky team just as you would on a traditional sled. If winter arrives early, we may switch to sleds as soon as conditions allow.

No matter the conditions, you'll experience the excitement of mushing your own team through the peaceful forests of Finnish Lapland while getting to know our amazing huskies along the way.

MEET THE HUSKIES

The starting point for all activities is a well-being sled dog. We have about 90 sled dogs, most of which are purebred Siberian huskies..

We did the two-hour husky safari at Arctic Borealis Huskies – an absolute must! Everything was perfectly organized by a fantastic team. From start to finish, it was a magical experience, with professional guidance, a clear love for their animals, and, as the icing on the cake, a wonderful cuddle session after the ride, with plenty of time to enjoy it. We couldn’t have chosen a better provider – highly recommended for everyone!

Fabulous day out with the huskies

Outstanding day safari (5-6hrs) with Lionel and his huskies. We have done quite a few trips with huskies in Finland, Norway and Sweden, and this was probably the best. Wonderful scenery around Ranua, guaranteed small group sizes, and where Lionel made us feel very welcome. None of the large impersonal company feel you get at other centres. Whilst this may be further out of Rovaniemi than other centres, it was more than worth the extra drive. Big thanks to Arctic Borealis Huskies for a wonderful day out.
